CHI St. Alexius Health, in Dickinson, North Dakota, is a 25-bed, Critical Access Hospital with a Level IV Trauma Center accredited by the American College of Surgeons and The Joint Commission (TJC). CHI St. Alexius Health Dickinson currently holds The Joint Commission’s National Quality Approval award. St. Joseph’s also received the 2013 Top Performer on Key Quality Measures Recognition from The Joint Commission for Pneumonia and Surgical Care, one of the only two hospitals in North Dakota to receive the Top Performer recognition. With the support of the local community, CHI St. Alexius Health Dickinson constructed a new, state-of-the-art health care facility in west Dickinson. This beautiful facility houses our hospital and all of our Dickinson clinic services under one roof. Formerly CHI St. Joseph’s Health, in April 2016, CHI St. Alexius Health Dickinson joined together with facilities in several other communities in western and central North Dakota to form the CHI St. Alexius Health Regional Healthcare System.
Sanford Health Dickinson Clinic, is the most complete health care clinic in Dickinson, features more than 20 dedicated and experienced health experts in family medicine, internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, orthopedics, general surgery, pediatrics, podiatry and sports medicine. Audiology services are offered at Sanford Health Occupational Medicine Clinic. Visiting specialists in cardiology, nephrology, orthopedic surgery, urology and oncology/hematology also travel from Bismarck to Dickinson to provide specialized care close to home.
On July 1, 1981, the Dickinson Ambulance Service, Inc, began providing emergency care to the people of Dickinson and the surrounding area. Over the years, we have grown to become an advanced life support service with eight full time paramedics and 10 part time paramedics, intermediates and EMTs. Our staff has a combined 170 years of experience. We respond to approximately 1600 calls per year. Our headquarters is a newly constructed 6000 square foot building with four heated garages, classroom, offices, and full living quarters for the staff. The Dickinson Area Ambulance Service provides a wide range of pre-hospital training classes.
St. Luke’s Home is a church sponsored, Medicare and Medicaid certified health care facility providing 24 hour skilled nursing care. Park Avenue Villa which is a 38 unit assisted living facility is also a part of St. Luke’s Home.

The Center is a multi-county center primarily helping with the problems of daily living and serves people living in Adams, Billings, Bowman, Dunn, Hettinger, Golden Valley, Slope and Stark Counties.
