Gene Fisher started Fisher Sand & Gravel Company in the early 1950's as a small aggregate business in Dickinson, North Dakota. Fisher bought his first piece of equipment at age 12, when he went to the Black Hills to look at dozers with his father. In 1967, Fisher built a manufacturing plant, General Steel and Supply, to complement his aggregate operations.
Fisher's dedication to hard work and high quality has enabled the company; now know collectively as Fisher Industries to expand to 15 states, over 4,000 pieces of equipment, and nearly 800 employees operate forty processing plants around the country. In addition to aggregate processing and building related equipment, Fisher Industries has begun paving and grading operations throughout the western United States.
